Service Technician - Orlando, FL

Carroll Air Systems, Inc., an HVAC equipment (manufacturer’s representative) sales engineering firm established in 1972, locally owned, conducting business with contractors, consulting engineers, owners, federal and local governments, and school boards has a full-time opportunity for an HVAC Service Technician in our Orlando office.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Service, troubleshoot, problem solve and repair commercial HVAC equipment and HVAC control systems

  • Explain service and repairs performed to customer

  • Requisition supplies to perform repairs

  • Accurately document and complete service reports on a daily basis

  • Maintain company vehicle

  • Ability to climb, lift heavy objects, crawl, bend, kneel, stoop and crouch for periods of time

  • Demonstrate willingness to invest time in training classes

  • Adhere to daily work schedule as directed by supervisor and/or coordinator

  • Ability to use a variety of tools required to perform job functions

  • Follow company and industry safety standards

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma required

  • Completion of HVAC trade school

  • EPA certification preferred

  • Minimum 3 years of experience working on commercial HVAC systems

  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug test and background check

  • Clean, insurable driving record

  • Maintain a professional image

  • Willingness to work in variable weather conditions

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft office software suite

  • Ability to multitask

  • Prompt, dependable, flexible and self-starting

  • Answer questions concerning a product with appropriate level of detail
  • Coordinate technical engineering support to ascertain customer’s needs
  • Close transactions and execute orders
  • Investigate product warranty claims to ensure resolution
  • Sell, manage, and maintain relationships with new clients, present clients, and prospects
  • Responsible for monthly booking reports to management
  • Equipment take offs and equipment selections
  • Equipment proposal development and equipment estimating/pricing
  • Order entry and tracking
  • Respond to customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner
  • Maintain job cost records and project files

Controls Engineer - Tampa, FL

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design cost effective HVAC controls solutions for DX VRV and rooftop and for chilled water systems including pharmacy, clean room and hospital space pressurization applications

  • Oversee remote building monitoring

  • Support controls maintenance service

  • Promote controls integration with intelligent HVAC equipment

  • Promote and support room pressurization, lab and pharmacy systems

  • Developing relationships with owners, mechanical contractors and consulting engineers

  • Build strategic partnerships with companies with whom the company does business

  • Develop sales strategy and tactical plans

  • Maintain a pipeline of opportunities and create sales forecasts and budgets against plan

  • Coordinate controls business with equipment and service departments

  • Identifying controls opportunities provided by the product lines represented by the company and by identifying potential suppliers that provide controls business opportunities

  • Demonstrate integrity and a commitment to quality

REQUIREMENT AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering required

  • 5+ years in the fields of HVAC controls and building automation

  • Proficient technical knowledge of HVAC systems and equipment

  • Ability to read plans

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe and Autodesk

  • Ability to learn manufacturer specific software applications

  • Good verbal and written communication skills
