James H. Carroll, Jr., PE., Chairman, CEO and Treasurer, has over 50 years of experience in the HVAC industry with a recognized successful track record in sales, management, and industry service. He is a graduate of Auburn University and became a Registered Professional Engineer in Alabama (Reg. #6859) in 1966. His service to our industry and the community includes the following: a Senior Member of the Florida Engineering Society, the National Society of Professional Engineers, and ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineers). He served ASHRAE as Regional Vice Chairman in 1982; and, on the Society level, he served three years as a member of the Society Board of Directors, Regions Council, Member Council, Research Promotion Committee, and Regional Chairman from 1983 through 1986. He is past president of the Florida West Coast Chapter of ASHRAE. During "Engineer’s Week" in 2004 he received the "Engineer of the Year": award from the Florida West Coast Chapter of ASHRAE. He received the "Distinguished Auburn Engineer" Award in 2006 from the Auburn Alumni Engineering Council.
Philip R. Carroll, President and a Director,
earned his Bachelor of Science Degree from Auburn University in March, 1982.
He holds a Florida State Certified Mechanical Contractor License (CMC045854).
Philip has established a 24-year track record as a successful sales engineer
and and in management as a corporate officer. Philip is an active member of
the local chapter of ASRAE. He is a former president of Palma Ceia Golf and
Country Club, a former member of the Board of Directors of South Trust Bank
(now Wachovia Bank), and is on the current Board of Trustees of Tampa General
Hospital Foundation. He holds membership in numerous community organizations.
Scott Brushwood, Tampa Sales Engineer, joined
our sales group in April 1998 after graduating with a B.S. Degree in
Engineering Environmental Science from Auburn University. Scott attended
Auburn on an academic scholarship. He is married to the former Emily Knapp
of Tampa.
Mark Cartmell,
Aftermarket Parts Sales Manager for Tampa, Fort Myers, and Orlando, has over
26 years of experience in the HVAC industry including both equipment and
wholesale parts, sales and distribution. Before joining Carroll Air Systems
in 1994, Mark was involved in inside sales and later served as Parts Manager
for Carrier Corporation locally. Mark served in the Air Force for four years
active duty and with the Air Force Reserve and Air National Guard at MacDill
Air Force Base for 20 years.
Ken Cash, Orlando Sales Engineer, office
previously worked in our service department part-time when he was attending
high school. He obtained his B.S. in Chemical Engineering Degree from the
University of Florida in 1985. He worked as a manufacturer's representative
with a company in the Miami area for three years prior to becoming a sales
engineer with Carroll Air Systems in 1988. He has 21 years of experience in
HVAC engineering sales.
Bruce Hawkins, Orlando Senior Sales Engineer
since 2002, has over 30 years very successful engineering experience,
knowledge, talent and ideal credentials to serve the engineers and customers
in the Orlando marketing territory. Bruce received a B.S. in Industrial
Engineering from Wentworth Institute of Technology in 1975. For over 23
years prior to joining our professional staff, Bruce was an outstanding
Senior Sales Engineer with a major HVAC manufacturer, completing their
graduate engineering training program and achieving their “Top Ten” award
five times. His outstanding performance record proves his professional value
to our consulting engineers, mechanical contractors, and owner’s
representatives in the area.
Debie Horsey,
Tampa Application Engineer, joined our organization in June of 2002 after
six years successful engineering sales experience in the Tampa marketing
area with a major HVAC manufacturer. She received her B.S. in Industrial
Engineering from USF in 1995 and completed a graduate engineering training
program with her previous employer. Debie had a very successful performance
record in both engineering applications and assigned account sales.
Gordon Houston, Orlando Application Engineer, joined our firm in August, 2003. Gordon is a professional in our HVAC field with 18 years industry experience, of which the last 10 years he was in responsible charge as a mechanical system designer. Notable projects include: $12 million expansion and renovation to Palmetto General Hospital-Hialeah, FL; Indian River Memorial Hospital-Central Energy Plant-SD Design-Vero Beach, FL; and Graham Medical Office Building and Ambulatory Surgery Center-Naples, FL. Gordon graduated from the University of Florida in 1983 with an Associate of Arts degree and completed the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers Construction, Drafting, and Defense Mapping School. Gordon's vast computer knowledge and experience with many engineering and selection programs including high proficiency in AutoCAD.
Andrew Kee, Fort Myers Sales Manager,
joined our professional sales team in February 2003 with over 12 years
highly successful engineering and field sales experience. He received his
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Clemson University in 1991 and completed
a major HVAC manufacturer’s graduate engineering training program. His
achievements with that HVAC manufacturer include a “National Top Ten” award
and other significant performance awards six years running. As a sales
engineer professional, he can provide expert HVAC equipment solutions,
support and service for engineers and customers in the southwest Florida
area.
Paul Kellar,
Tampa Senior Sales Engineer, has over 26 years experience in our Tampa
office. He holds a B.A. Degree in Business Finance from the University of
South Florida. He previously worked in air conditioning service in Key West
where his father was Director of Monroe County School Board Maintenance.
Since becoming an associate in 1980, Paul has completed several
manufacturers air conditioning and engineering sales training programs.
Mark Leaf, Tampa Inside Sales Support, joined our organization in April 2004. He had 18 years experience in CAD including production, automation, and CAD management. Prior to joining Carroll Air Systems, Mark was CAD manager for TECO (BGA Division) overseeing AutoCAD operations in eight offices in Florida. In addition to supervising our CAD operation, Mark is part of our inside sales support team.
John Chris Mills, Orlando Sales Manager,
received his B.S. Degree in Engineering Technology specializing in air
conditioning systems from the University of South Florida in June 1978. He
has over 28 years experience in the HVAC field. He has been active in ASHRAE
for his entire career. Chris previously was an estimator with a Tampa
mechanical contractor and has been with our organization since 1978 serving
in our Tampa and Orlando offices.
Robert Mulholland, Tampa Senior Inside
Sales Engineer, joined us in 1996. He is a 1993 graduate of the University
of South Florida with a B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He received
his E.I.T. certificate from the State of Florida, which will allow him to
achieve a Professional Engineering license in the future.
Jim O’Donoghue, Tampa Sales Representative,
provides customer support in the maintenance, repair and replacement of
variable speed drives and cooling towers. He is our representative for
Evapco’s “Mr. Goodtower”. Jim is highly qualified with 27 years of
experience including engineering and technical training, service, sales and
sales management. He is a 1978 graduate of United Electronics Institute of
Tampa, Florida. Jim founded PowerCon Electronics and for 16 years
specialized in repair and application engineering of solid state motor and
power controls, including A/C variable frequency drives, DC drives, solid
state motor starters and SCR power controls. He has completed their factory
training courses and is certified with twelve variable speed drive
manufacturers. Most recently, Jim completed Evapco’s “Mr. Goodtower”
training program on cooling tower service and maintenance.
George Rawson,
Tampa Sales Engineer, became a member of our professional sales staff in
2002 with several years successful engineering sales experience with a major
HVAC manufacturer. George completed their graduate engineering training
program and many other advanced HVAC related courses. Prior to joining our
Tampa sales team, he achieved outstanding success receiving awards for
record equipment and temperature control sales. He has an excellent
reputation of knowledge, reliability and service with engineers and
customers. George is a native Floridian and graduated from the University of
Florida with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.
Laura Taylor, Orlando Inside Sales Support, joined our staff in August 1998. Laura came to us from South Carolina with several years of customer relations experience. Her current duties include inside sales support for four salesmen and liaison for customer needs.
Bruce Tindle, Orlando Sales Engineer, has a B.S. Degree in Marketing from Florida State University and joined our company in 1991. He had a successful 19-year history in sales and marketing management. He previously held the positions of President and Director of Sales and Marketing, working with general contractors and mechanical contractors for a Central Florida development corporation.
Chris Tobias, Customer Service Coordinator
for Parts and Service, became a member of our Tampa team in August, 2000. He
has over 15 years experience in our industry with over 200 hours completed
in formal A/C and refrigeration technical training.
Support Staff
Betty M. Carroll,
Vice President, Secretary and a Director, earned her Bachelor of Arts degree,
Magna Cum Laude, from the University of South Florida and her Master’s Degree
from the University of Tampa. She serves as a Financial Manager for accounting,
banking, payroll and commission allocations..
Pam Gehan, Pamela joined our staff in July, 2006. Pam is a multi-tasked administrative assistant in the Tampa office. She is our Customer Relations Representative who will answer your phone call or questions when you are not dialing direct to a particular sales representative or other telephone extension. She came to us with 15 years of administrative experience.
Shayda Kader, Orlando office, joined our staff in August 2005 as an administrative assistant. She is a cheerful greeter for incoming calls and assists in customer service as a sales team performer. Shayda attended Florida International University and Seminole Community College prior to joining Carroll Air Systems.
Adrienne Rentschlar, Tampa Clerical Office Manager, joined our company in 2000. Adrienne is responsible for overseeing all of the clerical duties in our Tampa office, the production of proposals and submittals, as well as being a liaison for customer needs. She came to us with several years experience in management and administration. Adrienne will be happy to assist you at any time.
Renee Werking, Renee is another of our multi-tasked administrative assistants who has returned on a part-time basis with us after a five year absence. She now has her daughter in pre-kindergarten and enjoying being back into the business environment. Renee brings extensive experience from her previous years with Carroll Air Systems, and will be our administrative “rover,” filling in for various positions of the support staff.
Nicole Younglove-Williams, Office Manager and Accounts Manager, received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Management from the University of South Florida and joined our staff full time in July, 1997. Nicole had previously worked part-time for Carroll Air Systems while in school. Nicole is in charge of the daily accounting, banking, execution of lien releases, and calculation and allocation of commissions. Nicole serves as our liaison for Human Resource questions and solutions and coordinates our clerical staff. She is truly wearing many hats!
